Here’s what makes our quarantine protocols stand out:
Strict Separation: Every holding tank has its own filtration, nets, and viewing bowls, with tanks spaced to prevent cross-contamination. We even wash hands with alcohol between tank interactions.
Treatments: Upon arrival, each new Koi is scraped, scoped, and treated. Our process includes:
Koi Pharma Pure Salt treatment to .6% (6lb per 100 gal water) for 1 week
Koi Pharma Broad Spectrum
Koi Pharma Pure Prazi 100% Praziquantel treatment (twice)
Koi Defender
Temperature Control: Water is carefully heat-ramped between 70-75°F, following guidelines from Kennebec Bioscience Labs for KHV testing.
4-6 Week Quarantine: All fish remain in quarantine for 4-6 weeks. Afterward, Sentinel Koi from each tank undergo PCR & ELISA KHV tests, conducted by Kennebec River Biosciences.
